As a mother, small-business owner, veteran, and current state representative, Karen is running for a second term for State Assembly to continue to bring her real-world experience with her to Madison. As a long-time resident of our community, Karen wants what's best for our area. She will fight to keep our communities safe, work to fix the economy, and empower parents in their child's education.

Meet Karen
Karen Hurd is currently the WI State Representative of the 68th Assembly District. Due to the redistricting of state maps, she is running for the 69th Assembly District as much of that redrawn district is what she currently represents. She holds a Master of Biochemistry degree and is a nutritionist. She has recently completed a Master of Public Health degree. She is actively involved in the community life in multiple ways, is a veteran of the United States Army, writer, and strong advocate for the constituents in North Central Wisconsin. She is married to her husband Steven for 46 years. She has five grown children and six grandchildren. She has been a resident of rural Wisconsin for 28 years.
